Cape Light Compact ("CLC") is a public entity formed in 1997 to advance the interests of consumers in the newly restructured electric industry. Currently serving 200,000 consumers from all 21 towns on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, Cape Light Compact Governing Board represents each member town's interest.

In December 2014, Cape Light Compact entered into an agreement to buy electricity from NextEra Energy Services for Cape Light Compact's commercial customers. That agreement will begin with December meter reads for NSTAR commercial customers.

Yes. The Cape Light Compact is an aggregation group made up on municipalities consisting of the 21 cities and towns in Barnstable and Dukes counties, Massachusetts. We currently service their municipal customer accounts, i.e. town buildings, schools, fire houses, libraries.

NSTAR offers 100 percent of its basic service supply requirements for 3 month terms. As a result, the fixed price option for these larger customers remains stable for a three month period. This strategy is intended to respond to the fluctuations in the market.
