In 2024, NextEra Energy Services New York LLC (NextEra Energy Services) acquired Approved Energy II, LLC’s (Approved Energy) natural gas supply business. NextEra Energy Services will now be the natural gas supplier for Approved Energy’s retail natural gas customers. The acquisition has no impact on our customers’ current service. NextEra Energy Services will continue to provide superior customer service throughout the length of their agreement.
By transitioning to NextEra Energy Services, our customers will have the opportunity to leverage the full suite of capabilities of our organization, which include renewables, efficiency solutions and an established track record of implementing those solutions effectively and efficiently.
We are transitioning Approved Energy’s natural gas customers in New York and New Jersey to NextEra Energy Services. Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for our customers.
You should have received a notification from Approved Energy regarding NextEra Energy Services’ acquisition of your contract. Our New York and New Jersey customers will be served by NextEra Energy Services, while our customers in Pennsylvania will be served by Frontier Utilities. Once you receive your first NextEra Energy Services bill, you will have the option to pay by check or online.

There is no impact to customers who are currently being supplied by Approved Energy. The contract will remain unchanged, and NextEra Energy Services will continue providing superior customer service throughout the agreement.
NextEra Energy Services does not intend to change any core business models and will always represent our customers’ interests in working to deliver the best energy solutions.
If a customer’s renewal takes place during the transition period, we will continue to provide competitive pricing. We assure you that you will continue to get competitive prices and high levels of service working with us.
Yes, if you receive your gas bills from your utility.
If you receive your bill from Approved Energy, you will start receiving your gas bills from NextEra Energy Services. The timing of when your service transitions to NextEra Energy Services will depend on your utility service area. Before we switch your service to NextEra Energy Services, you will receive a notification letter from Approved Energy.
Once you’ve received your NextEra Energy Services bill, you will have the option to send checks to our new P.O. Box or pay online.
To pay online, create a new account on our Customer Portal at nextera.esgglobal.net You will need your new account number as it appears on your NextEra Energy Services bill, your email address (must match the email address on our record) and the first five digits of your billing zip code.
